As part of the development of a new Park's Masterplan by Karen Fitzsimon Landscape Associates ( Tel: 07890 636917) Paul Margetts was commissioned by Tower Hamlets Borough Council to design, make and install sculptural features at the entrances to the park. The area was the centre of London's silk weaving trade and references to this craft are depicted in the work. Great care was taken during the design process to ensure that the sculptures could not be easily damaged by vandalism, that there were no large flat surfaces to receive graffiti or that the structures could not be easily climbed.
